- Profile
- Lewis Gersh is a Managing Partner at Metamorphic Ventures. Metamorphic Ventures specializes in financial technologies and digital media, focusing on start-up and early stage companies that tend to have capital efficient models. Prior to Metamorphic Ventures, Lewis founded and managed Gersh Venture Partners, which had the same focus and was merged to form Metamorphic. Lewis and the team are actively involved with the portfolio companies, including making direct investments as well as helping them with fundraising, capitalization, operational strategy, business development acceleration and board management.
Lewis has been an entrepreneur since 1996 when he was in CD-ROMs and Web development services. In 1998, Lewis founded Worldly Information Network, which created and provided investment information to both the retail and institutional markets and sold the online advertising in the inventory it created with the largest portals at the time. The company was sold in 2002 and Lewis then began venture investing and "incubating" start-ups in both digital media and financial technologies. Early successes included Tranvia which was sold to Comdata, a division of Ceridian, and IndustryBrains, which was sold to Marchex. Metamorphic Ventures has 11 active portfolio companies that range from pre-revenue up to $50MM+ annual run rate, many of which share space in one of two floors in NYC. - Website
